marcelo pimentel Marcelo Pimentel é ilustrador e designer gráfico carioca, formado pela Escola de Belas Artes da UFRJ, e atua desde 1992 no meio editorial. Em ilustração, são características do seu trabalho a variação constante de técnica e linguagem, além de uma certa predileção por textos que explorem a fantasia, o imaginário – contos folclóricos ou fábulas. Participou da Bienal de Bratislava, em 1999, 2001 e 2003; e da Exposição "BIB in Japan – 2004", no Japão. Em 2001, recebeu o Altamente Recomendável da FNLIJ e foi selecionado para o Catálogo "The White Ravens", da Biblioteca de Munique, com o livro Mistérios da Pindorama. Como designer, desenvolveu também projetos gráficos para alguns eventos musicais: Cantorias Nordestinas (1999), Cantorias Amazônicas (2000), Viola Brasileira (2000) e Rabequeiros (2002), todos realizados no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB), no Rio de Janeiro. Marcelo Pimentel is an illustrator and graphic designer born in RIO – graduated by the Fine Arts School of the Federal University at Rio de Janeiro - and is an active member in the editorial field since 1992. As an illustrator, the characteristics of his work are the constant variation of both technique and means of expression besides a certain preference for texts that exploit the fantasy and the imagination – folklore and fables. He took part in the Bratislava Biennials of 1999, 2001 and 2003; and in the “BIB in Japan – 2004”, in Japan. In 2001, he was awarded a “Highly Recommended” by FNLIJ (The National Foundation of Child and Juvenile Books) and was selected for the Catalogue “The White Ravens”, of the Munich Library (Germany), with the book “Mistérios da Pindorama” (Mysteries of Pindorama).
