jô oliveira Jô Oliveira é jornalista/ilustrador. Estudou Artes Gráficas na Escola de Belas Artes, no Rio de Janeiro, e Comunicaçao Visual na Escola Superior de Artes Industriais da Hungria, em Budapeste. Publicou diversos trabalhos e livros no Brasil, Espanha, Italia, Grécia, Dinamarca, Hungria, França e Argentina. Realizou exposiçoes dos seus trabalhos na Feira de Bologna (Itália), no Otani Memorial Museum de Nishinomyia (Japão), Angoulême (França), no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (Rio de Janeiro), na Convenção das Nações Unidas (Itália), na Maison de l’Amérique Latine (França), entre outros. Ilustra livros infantis, desenha historias em quadrinhos e selos postais (50 realisados para a ECT), que ganharam duas vezes o maior prêmio da filatelia internacional na categoria turismo - Prêmio Asiago (Itália). Sua obra é baseada na literatura popular nordestina e no imaginario brasileiro. Seus trabalhos já foram publicados em diversas revistas especializadas como: Modern Publicity (Londres), Graphis Poster (Suiça), Modern Art Museum Magazine (México), Decorative Design Magazine (Bulgária), Crisis (Argentina). Em 2004, recebeu o troféu de Grande Mestre dos Quadrinhos, que lhe foi entregue durante o Festival Internacional HQ MIX, em São Paulo. Jô Oliveira, journalist/illustrator, studied Graphic Arts at the Fine Arts School of Rio de Janeiro-Brazil and Visual Communications at the University of Industrial Arts in Budapest-Hungary. Several of his works and books have been published in Brazil, Spain, Italy, Greece, Danmark, Hungary, France and Argentina. He's taken part in many exhibitions around the world, like the Bologna International Book Fair (Italy), the Otani Memorial Museum of Nishinomyia (Japan), Angoulême (France), Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (Rio de Janeiro), United Nations Meeting (Italy), Maison de l'Amérique Latine (France) and others. He has illustrated children's books, comics, design posters and has also produced more than 50 stamps for the Brazilian Post, which have twice granted him the Asiago Prize (Italy) - the highest international philately prize for best stamp, both times in the Turism category. His work is based on the popular northeastern brazilian literature and the brazilian imaginary. His drawings have appeared in specialized magazines such as Modern Publicity (London), Graphis Poster (Switzerland), Modern Art Museum Magazine (Mexico), Decorative Design Magazine (Bulgaria) and Crisis (Argentina). In 2004, during the International Comics Festival in São Paulo, he was honoured with the Great Master on Comic Books award. |
